Cedar Creek Estate Winery ~ Tamborine Mountain Wedding Photographer

Jasmine and Evan

Jasmine and Evan were our Tamborine Mountain Wedding Group winners earlier this year when they entered a Wedding Prize Giveaway at the expo valued at over $20000.

Little did they know their year was going to be turned upside down and having just gotten engaged, it was full steam ahead with wedding planning!

We could not have had two more amazing, well deserving people to have won this amazing prize and it has just been the biggest pleasure to capture their day and provide them with memories that will last a lifetime.

It all started when they met at work, as all good love stories do.

The Proposal

We’ve had a love affair with snowboarding for a few years now so, after we had such a great time in Hakuba, Japan last year, we decided to go for another trip in January 2018. We spent two weeks in the snow and, on our final night, Evan surprised me with a romantic, candle lit dinner prepared by our lovely hosts. It was our favourite place to eat last year as the hosts would run an informal dinner when they had capacity but, as this year’s season was incredibly busy, they hadn’t been able to prepare one during our stay… until Evan secretly arranged it just for the two of us!

After we finished our mains, Evan walked to my side of the table, asked me to stand up and told me about how perfect our holiday had been, and how one more thing would top it off – then he got down on one knee and he asked me to marry him. After a few tears, I said yes and our hosts came in with a cake that said ‘Congratulations’! (Lucky I said yes! Haha)

What would be your advice for Brides?

If you’re a stress head (Jasmine is!) then write lots of lists, find the best way to coordinate your to-dos (I used an Excel spreadsheet and a wedding planning website) and keep in touch with all of your vendors to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. Also, take your time and choose the right people for your bridal party! Things will go wrong either in the lead up or on the big day but as long as you have surrounded yourself with those who love you, and you always remember the day is about you celebrating your love, everything will work out!

Niki was AMAZING! She was so friendly and supportive during the planning process and we felt at ease working with her, While she wasn’t able to shoot our day, she arranged for Toni and Simon to cover (they were fantastic) – and she always has a back up plan (and back up photographers) if the worst happens!

And Thank You to all of our incredible vendors, especially those from Tamborine Mountain Wedding Group, and a HUGE thank you to Donna and the team at Cedar Creek Estate Winery for having such an incredible competition to start with! It has been a pleasure working with everyone to make our dream a reality.
