Tauranga Hills, NZ ~ Gold Coast Wedding Photographer | Niki D

Kat + Marcus

I have known Kat for many years, so many I dare not say! haha

To be able to shoot her wedding was super cool, but it is not without its downfalls.

Trying to shoot through tears or trying not to immerse yourself in the moment when vows are being said so that I can fully concentrate on the job at hand is a job in itself.

But I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

To say it was magical, hidden away in the most gorgeous venue in the hills of Tauranga, would be an understatement.

With views that take your breath away and a super cool Bridal Party, it was set to be an epic day.

Roll with it, you actually don’t need that $4,000 dress, or that expensive grazing table – your friends and family will make it special however you plan your day. Enjoy the moment and take it all in, try and take 2 minutes to talk with each guest – time goes too quick. Have fun!

Well you would expect me to be slightly bias as Niki has been one of my best friends for a long long time. Regardless of Niki being my friend, she made our day so special and her skills are second to none. Her photography ideas are perfect and her editing skills are amazing.

It is amazing how much you rely on your photographer, what they are doing in the background is next level – lots of organizing and making sure they are there to take shots of all of the moments as you are living it.  Niki is perfect for this as she is so organized herself, and I know she would make sure the photos are up to a standard that only she would expect.

Couldn’t have imagined anyone else. Niki was quick with getting our images to us, and we had so much fun looking through them and remembering our day.

We went to Intermediate school together in Tokoroa, and caught up later in life. We were inseparable and knew that we were meant to be together.

Marcus surprised me with a flight to Christchurch, and to be flown in a helicopter by my ‘crush’ Richie McCaw. My ultimate dream, a helicopter flight and meeting Richie! Marcus then went next level and fulfilled my dreams even further by proposing to me that night over a romantic dinner at the Christchurch Casino, a night we will never forget.
